GAS ANALYSIS / SELECTION
How do you start selecting an online trace oxygen analyzer?
Establish the gas and target measurement range first. Then review sampling, process conditions, installation, calibration and maintenance against the approved documents for an actual model.
Short answer
Provide the gas composition, expected oxygen range, pressure, temperature, flow and whether continuous online monitoring is needed. Then check the sampling line and possible interference. “Trace oxygen” alone does not establish the measurement principle, range or model.
Process conditions to establish
- Background gas and components that may affect measurement.
- Normal value, alarm threshold and possible maximum concentration.
- Sample pressure, temperature, flow, moisture and particles or liquid carryover.
- Measurement point, tubing distance, mounting environment, power and signals.
Documents to verify
- Approved model specification, compatible gas and sensing principle.
- Sampling and conditioning arrangement, wiring and installation drawing.
- Calibration interval, consumables and maintenance requirements.
- Manual revision and technical approval record.
What cannot be inferred?
Accuracy, response time, detection limit and hazardous-area certification cannot be assumed from the instrument category. Until a specific model is approved, this page does not publish performance figures.
